Belinda Beardt, Chief Operating Officer and Gloria Elia, Director of Administrative Services accepted the award, flowers and gifts on behalf of Linda McKell and AIM at the Holiday Party.
Back in 2006, your SLA-SF Bay Region Chapter Awards Committee met to create new categories of awards. We sought to expand our opportunities to thank our volunteers and members for their service to the profession and the chapter. Last year, you may recall that we wrapped up the term by honoring the entire Executive Board and Advisory Committee with our ABCD Award for service "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty."
Although we did not grant it that year, the committee also created a Vendor Appreciation Award to honor those supporters whose financial contributions significantly enhanced the camaraderie, communications or overall mission of the chapter.
This is the year---2008---that we have chosen to inaugurate this new award by extending it to two vendors who fulfill ALL these attributes and who have done so for over twenty years!
It is our pleasure to announce AIM Library & Information Staffing, Linda McKell and Taylor and Associates, Catherine Ghent as recipients of the SLA-SF Bay Region Chapter’s Vendor Appreciation Award.
AIM Library & Information Staffing and Taylor and Associates, two local professional placement agencies, have consistently sustained our programs and professional development with their financial support and collegial participation. Not only has each of them provided income to the chapter with their sponsorships, but they have done so pretty much for every program throughout every chapter year since the mid-nineteen-eighties. They have done so with a spirit of community and long support that deserves our thanks. With this award we hope to express our appreciation for their consistent presence in our roster of vendors.
